Just named Liverpool Pub Of The Year ,about time too ,the team led by Dominic have made The Bridewell Pub without a shadow of a doubt one of the premier real ale pubs in our city ,high praise indeed when you consider how many great real ale pubs we are blessed with ,my twin brother Stephen and I visited here on a Friday afternoon, pub was packed ,atmosphere was superb as always ,we were greeted warmly by the bar team ,we ordered bitters from Purple Moose Brewery ,these were served in excellent condition,it was standing room only so we took our beers into the courtyard which was full also and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub .My bitter was really good ,in my opinion a much underrated beer style ,when served in pristine condition it's such a refreshing brew,it was just so good being in such a unique pub enjoying such a great pint of bitter, the pub itself is superb a former prison ,police station ,the interior is fab,a cool looking serving bar ,exposed brickwork, former prison cells converted into cosy snug rooms,tv's to enjoy the sport and lots of seating options both inside and outside in their courtyard. We really enjoyed our bitters in here ,we only stayed for the one each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Bridewell Pub is easy to locate along Argyle Street on Campbell Square .Opening hours are;midday till midnight.Well worth checking out if you're in the area.
